PLAY THE EPISODE
In this season finale, we jump in with questions about fasting that you’re afraid to ask. This episode is packed with powerful information that will keep you motivated on your fasting journey. As with all spiritual practices, we want to remind you that the goal is formation, and formation always takes time . . . lots of it. Start small, and like the other practices, begin with asking God what He wants you to do, and then follow that.
We’re signing off for the summer to focus on developing some other resources for you. Until then, take some time to catch up on episodes that you missed. But most importantly, please hit the subscribe button wherever you listen to this podcast. That will insure that our first episode of season two will automatically populate your feed when it drops. And if you wanted to get me a present for the summer, I sure would love it if you shared your favorite episode from this season with one of your friends. Let’s bring more voices around the table this fall.
Happy summer!

The Mentor’s Table podcast | S1E11: We Don’t Talk About Fasting, No, No
I grew up under the teaching that fasting was to be done in secret; under no circumstances were you to tell others that you were fasting; and fasting was reserved for the really “big” prayer requests, kind of a last resort if all else failed. IS that biblical? Why is fasting included in the spiritual disciplines? And what does fasting have to do with surrender? Pull up a chair; let’s talk about it.
PLAY THE EPISODE
While there's a lot of buzz about fasting in the health and wellness world, it tends to be hush-hush topic in the modern-day church. In this episode we'll talk about what IS fasting? Why all the buzz? Conversely, we'll also talk about what ISN'T fasting. This episode is going to step on some toes, but it's meant to sharpen the edges of this powerful discipline God has designed for us that brings maximum connection with His Spirit and transforms our physical bodies.
Pull up a chair here at The Mentor's Table, and join the discussion as we begin a multi-part series on the spiritual discipline of fasting. What has your experience been with fasting? Let us know in the comments.

"Fasting (ft. Tyler Staton) | Unforced Rhythms of Grace E6" While this is on JMC's teaching podcast, the it's actually Tyler Staton (pastor of Bridgetown Church) who is teaching, and he does a fantastic job providing a different voice and angle to the subject.
